When it comes to specific characters, they need to compare the potential actors with the existing graphics. Named characters usually stand out from the generalized units.

Three different races: Agree
Terrans=Earth Humans: Agree
Aliens=Zerg: Disagree. Aliens feel parasitic while Zerg is twisted evolution.
Predators=Protoss: Perhaps during the Aeon of Strife, but not anymore. Plus Predators bred some Aliens for ritualized hunting.

Alien w/ Predator DNA ==> Zerg/Protoss Hybrid, but even stronger?

If they made an entire monumental saga telling the story of the old campaigns, the books, and the whole StarCraft2 storyline, I would willingly pay for all of their episodes. Even without trailers. I guess there are some other fans of the game "thinkin' the same thing".
Also I guess that a good movie or movie saga could bring new people from the theaters to the game stores and on the StarCraft battlefields.
