Blue screen of death error code

Think my gpu is finally kicking the bucket.

I get a BSOD every couple of hours, error code is something like 0x0000000000016

Can someone help me out, what does it mean?

I can't seem to find anything on this error code.

I am using my onboard graphics now. Everything is running smoothly, apart from my big ass resolution -_-

You mean to say you're getting this on the GTX 590?
Sounds more like the RAM on the GPU is failing. Could be a failing PSU is causing the Voltage to either spike or drop leading to this.
Check them both on other rigs and see if it causes the same problem.

No, this is on a Radeon HD 4870, about 2 or 3 years old.

I returned my GTX 590 that I bought today, swapping it for a HD 7970 (hasn't arrived yet), but that is besides the point.

I think it may be the video card, because I am using onboard graphics right now and everything is running perfectly fine.

Yup, so it is an indication of failing Video RAM.... on the old Radeon.

I have also the problem of BSOD problem with my laptop. I think its n hardware problem, so i go to the shop of a hardware technician. And after wasting my time & money nothing will happen. so i take the online help for Windows Driver Updates & Microsoft Windows Vista Support, after several minutes. They told me its solved. i really wonder.
Than i left my laptop open for several hour & its working fine.
