Question Blue screen with error Kernel-Power, event 41 while using the Twitch Studio app

Hi!
I've been streaming Super Mario Odyssey on Twitch with my Nintendo Switch for a few months now, and the use of the Twitch Studio app made it really easy, as I wasn't able to obtain 60fps footage with OBS or Streamlabs (only 30fps for some reason). I'm using a "4K Ultra HD USB 3.0 Video Capture" card, the name isn't useful but I bought it from someone else and don't have the reference (not written anywhere on it :/)

Since I've switched to Twitch Studio, I've been having bluescreen problems during my streams, or even during just a recording using the same app. It happened during Mario Odyssey as I'm playing it most of the time, but also with a PC game (The Witness). It's not happening systematically but quite frequently now.
Every crash is the same, my screen freezes for around 5 sec then the PC restarts. When I check the Event Viewer, the Critical Error is about Kernel-Power, event 41.

I've, of course, checked Google to understand it and applied all the given software advice (no battery economy, no quick PC start etc.). I didn't change the hardware.
The problem is that my PC is quite new, and has absolutely NO ISSUE running a big game like Elden Ring in 4K, it was making some noise but never crashed.
I don't get why I'm having this power problem during a stream as my PC isn't making any noise or using even hot.

I've been having these crashes only when Twitch Studio is opened.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  1. Open Windows File Explore
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

Kernal power event 41(63) is a reaction to the restart, not the cause of one.

Hi,
Do I do it even if the four DMP files are from between September 15 and October 10? No new file was created even after my BOSD yesterday. Also, I can't zip them as I'm in a professional version of Windows and I'm not admin...

old ones wouldn't really help. If you not getting any it means restart not caused by windows. Its hardware

Fox Spirit GT-750P
I can't find any reviews of this, it shows as Platinum
French brand - https://www.fox-spirit.com/index.php/alimentation-gt-750p-v2/

it was making some noise but never crashed.
what was making a noise? PC in general or specific part?

Oh okay ??
I bought it on Top Achat, a famous hardware seller in France (as I'm French), so it makes sense
Mh I didn't really check, I think it was the whole thing. I then downgraded from 4K to 1920/1080 (still on Elden Ring) and the PC stopped making noise

so you getting BSOD, but no dumps... i love that.
Have you changed your page file size as that can be one reason its not created
Another can be the drive is the cause of crashes and can't record anything after its crashed.

Do you happen to know what code you are seeing? there are over 280 BSOD codes but most of them rarely happen.

how are you tracking temperatures?

Could be twitch studio - link - link

Mhh I haven't changed that :/
The last BSOD was about "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT", I don't remember the other ones
I'm using HWMonitor !
Yeah, maybe I should just switch and try having 60fps on OBS..

do you have latest BIOS?
latest version of Intel Management Engine Interface?

Try running this on CPU - https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15951/19792/intel-processor-diagnostic-tool.html?

I think Clock Watchdog Timeouts are CPU related. I will have to check when I can

There is a storm around and I might stop answering...

I did it and I passed everything !
Latest version of IMEI I just check and I think so
Latest BIOS I don't know I have American Megatrends Inc. 0806, 11/22/2022

You are 12 BIOS versions behind then, latest is 1604
no indication you need all the ones inbetween before you go to latest, so should just be able to do latest - https://www.asus.com/motherboards-c...fi/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=PRIME-Z790-P-WIFI

see page 92 for bios update instructions - https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/13MANUAL/PRIME_PROART_TUF_GAMING_INTEL_700_Series_BIOS_EM_WEB_EN.pdf?model=PRIME Z790-P WIFI

Don't update during storms or when you might lose power.
I'm kinda stressed to do this ahah
I've been using my switch since this morning and no crash for now. If it happened again I'll do it

bios updates much safer now.

open the 2nd link and go to page 93
PRIME / ProArt / TUF GAMING Intel 700 Series BIOS Manual93
11.2 ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3
The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 utility is an auto recovery tool that allows you to restore the BIOS file when it fails or gets corrupted during the updating process. You can restore a corrupted BIOS file using a USB flash drive that contains the BIOS file.
Make sure to download the latest BIOS file at https://www.asus.com/support/ and save it to a USB flash drive.
Recovering the BIOS
To recover the BIOS:
1. Turn on the system.
2. Insert the USB flash drive containing the BIOS file to the USB port.
3. The utility automatically checks the devices for the BIOS file. When found, the utility reads the BIOS file and enters ASUS EZ Flash 3 automatically.
4. The system requires you to enter BIOS Setup to recover the BIOS setting. To ensure system compatibility and stability, we recommend that you press <F5> to load default BIOS values

You can recover from a bad bios. Its much harder to break bios now.

but its your choice. It could fix the BSOD.

I'll try it if BSOD happens again. Thanks a lot for your help!
