Just updated the bios on my Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura and now my PC won’t boot. I can get to bios, but when I try to launch windows I get to the bluescreen/error screen. Windows auto troubleshoot doesnt work. I reset CMOS. I think I set bios to default settings(its kinda hard to tell). I tried updating via internet and via USB. It says my bios is up to date now.

my new bios version is 3805

The error I’m getting is “inaccessible boot device”. My boot option 1 is Windows Boot Manager. I don’t have any USBs plugged in.

Flashing the BIOS and clearing the CMOS both return the BIOS to default settings.

Prior to flashing BIOS, it is recommended to write down any custom settings that differ from default settings.

For example, default setting for the CSM (Compatibility Support Module) is [Enabled]

Disable the CSM to fully support the Windows Security Update and Security Boot.

Boot Device Control: default setting is [UEFI and Legacy OPROM]
Allows you to select the type of devices that you want to boot up. Configuration options: [UEFI and Legacy OPROM] [Legacy OPROM only] and [UEFI only]

The person who installed the OS may be able to tell you what settings they used.
