I was trying to wipe all files from my HP laptop model 15-bs013dx. However it was stuck at 1% for about 4 hours. So I did a hard shut down and now when I start it it says "boot device not found Please install an operating system on your hard disk. Does this mean Windows 10 is uninstalled from it? Also, does it mean my files are gone or could they still be there? Thank you.

I'm a little confused as to what you're trying to do. You said you're trying to wipe the hard drive but then asked if your files are gone; if you're wiping the hard drive, everything will be gone.

No, it just means the boot information is gone or corrupted. How where you trying to wipe all the files from your disc and how far do you want to go? Assuming you have one computer and one hard drive, the easiest way would be to use a windows install media to boot to a command prompt and use the diskpart "clean" command. https://winaero.com/blog/open-command-prompt-boot-windows-10/ and https://www.windowscentral.com/how-clean-and-format-storage-drive-using-diskpart-windows-10

I tried wiping the hard drive fully. I wondered if all my files were gone already because it didn't reach 100%, only 1%. I did a "remove everything " from the Windows screen.
