System Specs:
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 AORUS ELITE AX
  • RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 16GB DDR5 6000MHz
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-13700K
  • BIOS Version: F9

Issue: I've been experiencing a strange issue with my system, where it consistently fails to boot after restarting. However, if I shutdown the system normally (not restarting), everything works fine.

The problem started about 10 days ago. I've tried enabling and disabling XMP profiles, but that didn't resolve the issue.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? Could this be related to a hardware issue or a software glitch?

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or fix this issue.

Additional info:
  • System has been running fine for over a year with the same BIOS settings and specs.
  • No changes made to system or BIOS since the issue started.
  • Tried enabling/disabling XMP profiles, but no change.
  • Tried using Default BIOS settings too, but issue stayed the same.

To narrow it down to possible software/drivers/processes/windows update etc, you need to see if it will bootup in safe mode.

1. Boot into windows normally to the desktop.
2. Press and hold down the 'Shift key' and click the 'Restart' from the desktop power button.
3. Hold the shift key down until post and let it boot into Safe Mode. ( See if it boots sucessfully)

Check back in to advise.

When I tried to Restart and Boot into Safe Mode. Something new happened:
1. PC shuts down.
2. After that CPU Cooler's LED stays on it's (probably the) default color. But this shouldn't be happening when ErP is Enabled.
3. But PC doesn't start up.
4. So, I Unplugged PC from the power source.
5. Held down the power button till the CPU Cooler's LED turned off.
6. Plugged power back in.
7. Pressed the PC Case power button.
8. Safe Boot menu shows up.

Tried to restart like this multiple times, but every time pc stops/ get stuck after shutting down.

And now there's also a different problem: Front fans that came with the case, it's stuck on default color and they're not syncing with the rest of the RGB fans.

What ram do you have in the system, and how many sticks?.
If you have 2x 8mb modules, try using one stick only in the A2 slot and try the boot/restart problem. Try the other slots too just to make sure with 1xstick
