I'm using my old desktop PC with an Asus PRIME X399-A mobo as a home server.
I'm trying to install an Nvidia Tesla M10 in the first slot .

But I have an issue, after installation the Tesla M10, booting process in stuck:

How to fix this issue? Does it mean, it's something wrong with Tesla M10 and/or bios settings?

I tried with enabled or disabled CSM. I have enabled "above 4g". Doesn't matter. And once this "update" happens(it happens each time when I plug in Tesla M10), it's very difficult to disable it. Usually it requires a lot of switch off PC, and disable-enable USB devices, like keyboard multiple times.

let the pc boot as normal on that screen can take up to 40 minutes or more.
  1. Uninstall AURA from the computer. desktop.
  2. Download utilities driver from your board's site.
  3. Reinstall AURA
  4. Setup as normal.
  5. Make sure to restart when prompted.
if you have a led strip remove it.

I suppose you could disable the LED controller(s) in the BIOS as well.
Thanks, I'll try to find this option in the BIOS

Thanks for answer, but I even didn't know about such thing (AURA) before your answer. I just have default settings in terms of RGB(I have not altered them in any kind). I even don't have Windows on this machine. As I said, it's home server.

OK. this is my current bios settings (in terms of RGB):

The same issue still happens - if I plug in Tesla M10, motherboard tries to update "LED firmware" and keeps itself in stuck...

To confirm, does that notification happen if the Tesla M10 is not physically installed?
Short answer: it not happens, but after specific manipulations.

Long answer: If I plug it off, it still happens, but if I multiple times switch off PC, disable/enable USB drives, the system boots as usual. Once I plugin-in Nvidia Tesla M10, it always in stuck in the booting process with this "BIOS LED updating" nonsense. And even if I wait an hour, it is still there in stuck - never boots.

OKay, this time I can't get out of "bios updating RGB" without Tesla M10. I even tried to reset CMOS🙁

UPDATE: poweron-poweroff multiple times during POST, and it helps to stop this "RGB update" nonsense. Previous time I managed to stop it just to disabling/enabling USB devices. System can boot now(without Tesla M10).

I'm going to continue to try different BIOS settings to make Tesla M10 work on my system. Looking for any ideas.

Does this happen when a GPU is installed as well?

Have you verified that the Tesla works in any other system?

What OS are you running on this system?

I suggest a full reset of the motherboard. Original default settings applied. No tweaks/adjustments. Does this help with the matter?

If Tesla M10 installed, this so-called "update" happens each time. Just after plug-off Tesla, I have the same issue. But multiple reboots, disable-enable USB drives usually help. Than system boots as usual

What OS are you running on this system?
Oracle Linux 9, but I think, it doesn't matter, because system can't finish POST (so-called "update"). Without Tesla m10 it boots as usual (as I said, after multiple reboots, to make mobo forget about it's stupid intention to "update LED"). This issue never happened with this system since 2018, when I bought it (initially used as PC). It happened the first time when I installed M10 - yesterday

I suggest a full reset of the motherboard.
I'll try that. I'm going to try to update BIOS to the latest version (but mobo and GPU - they're both old, I don't think it helps). This update should also reset bios settings

What are the specs for that test PC?
i-9900k, ddr4, mini-itx mobo. I don't remember brand of mobo, probably Asrock or MSI. The only pcie device there - m2 wifi. And integrated GPU (in the CPU)

In the BIOS, did you ever manually set the PCIe version, if an option?
In the test system, no. Same for main system. I'll try to do it

What other PCIe devices are installed in the intended system?
2 x m2 NVME drives(Samsung), AMD R7 240 passive-cooling GPU. I'm going to use there PCie SATA extension card, but during tests, I extracted it. Also, it still has a lot of SATA disks connected to it (because it can take a lot of time to disconnect and reconnect it back).
