Hi folks,

is it possible to mount a bootable IDE-RAID 0 with the RAID Controllers from Iwill or Promise (Fast Trak 100)?

Thx for all replies.

Yes.

Thats as much as I know. A friend did it but I don't know the details.

Take care.

Yes...but just remember that IDE controllers are considered scsi in the bios. so if u want to boot off of it, you will have to change which drive boots first in your bios. I usually go CD-ROM, FLOPPY, then SCSI on my system.i'm actually considering getting rid of my floppy drive since CD's are now bootable and floppies are basically obsolete minus being good boot disks.

Don't do it! I've had one of my machines without a floppy drive before..you don't know how much you'll miss it until its gone..

It's a bad feeling to be screwed because you don't have a floppy..

Sure, I have one of those at home.
All you need to do is set SCSI before C in the boot sequence of the BIOS and make your array bootable (you can do this with the config BIOS utility that comes with the Promise controller).
