I suggest you visit http://www.air802.com/indoor-access. This is the highest powered (250mw) indoor and most reliable unit I have used. I connect with my home network three laptops, two towers, Tivo (download movies), print server and Logitech internet radios for audio streaming all at the same time with very little degradation in service. This is a very reliable unit and it only costs only a little more than consumer wireless routers. Highly recommended, great security and configuration flexibility.

Note that it is always best to store routers up high on a high cabinet to get coverage signals. Make sure that you not bewteen walls or metal

do you have any un-used satellite dishes or know anyone with a satellite dish that they don't need, if so then this will work will if you don't need the coverage to be omni directional

for me I use this mod http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/15/how-to-build-a-wifi-biquad-dish-antenna/

but instead of the biquad stuff, I simply took a small wifi antenna and made a hole in the plastic head thing and shoved it in there, and it works really well, (remove the plastic covering the wifi antenna to expose the small metal part on the inside)

also be sure to load your router with tomato or dd-wrt and increase the transmit power a little.
