Hi guys

I have been playing around with my cpu the last couple of days, and I found a stable overclock of my i5-3570k @ 4,2 GHZ (or so I thought). I have the voltage at a fixed mode of 1.1v and i tested it with Prime95 for 8.5 hours without any errors or warnings.

My temps are around 25-30 c on idle and 60-62 c on full load. I have a Corsair H50, so the cooling is adequate.

But after the 8,5 hours of prime, my computer got a BSOD when I was just web-browsing and playing around with Wordpress. What is the problem?

I honestly couldn't tell you why bud.I have passed 8 hours on a prime95 run but crashed when web-browsing. Yes, 8 hours is not enough to push out most of the possibilities of a BSOD so I always do a 12 hour test now. Sometimes i just run intel burn in stress test 50 runs.

I've got to 4,4 GHz @ 1.2v now. It's running at 37-40 C on idle and 70-75 on full load in IBT. I've put it through 50 runs on Intel Burn Test, and I'm going to test it in Prime95 for +12 hours during the night.

Hopefully it's stable now.
