Budget replacement for I7 stock cooler

I am building a new PC. i7-8700 ( no overclocking) and I know the stock cooler will do all. But I want to buy a better, less noisy budget cooler. Any suggestions up to 25 $? Are there tests available about the noise and the temperature?

Solution

The 8700K will pull 130w easy, the 65w TDP is BS.

The 212 EVO is under powered for the 8700.

The Cyborg H7 would be the best option really.

Thanks for your answer - but the H7 are build for up to 150 TDP and a I7-8700 has 65 TDP so for me it seems a little bit overpowered. But the Cyborg C7 looks fine.

Thanks for your answer I will take a closer look. It seems the cryorig h7 is a little bit overpowered for a stock i7. And I will see if I found the specs of 212 evo.

Thanks for giving me a direction where I can make more research.

Thanks, yes I know but I am talking about a 8700 (without K) TDP 65W. The 8700K has TDP 95W when I am right.

The Cryorig is just fine for that. Something like the Noctua D15 or the BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 are overpowered ot too much for your needs. The 212 Evo is capable of wicking away up to 180W of heat. So, it too is 'overpowered' but it really isn't. The H7 is my recommendation as well.

Both the 8700 and 8700K will pull 130w.

Intel's TDPs are now completely irrelevant due to how aggressive TurboBoost is on Coffee Lake. That 65 Watt TDP for the 8700 only applies if you turn TurboBoost off and run the chip at the 3.2GHz base clock. If TurboBoost is on, then the power draw shoots up past 100 Watts as the all core Turbo is 4.2GHz, and the stock cooler becomes completely insufficient to handle the heat output.
