Build vs Build

I'm building my first gaming pc next week and now I'm wondering which build to choose http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2H2IE or http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2H3eL

I'll be playing graphically demanding games on a 1920x1080 monitor (is high VRAM only important for higher resolution ?).

get the i7, it will be more future proof than the i5. Then just upgrade your gpu mid year or so. Thats what id do anyway.

I disagree with cyborgcity. You should get the i5 build because it comes with a 780 gtx. That will be the biggest impact out of those two builds. There is very little difference between the i7 and the i5 when it comes to gaming. The only thing that the i7 has is Hyperthreading and very few games use that. I do like the RAM, motherboard and cooler from the i7 build.

If its for gaming, I'd go with I5 w/ GTX780. The 4670k and 4770k has the same performance and GTx780 is a lot faster than Gtx770 for gaming.
If you are going to do some video editing better with I7 4770k coz its faster for video editing.

Too bad when games start coming out at end of this year or next year that do though. Bet he'l wish he bought an i7.
