So i have an old gtx 960 2gb and 8gb ddr3 ram and i'm trying to build a cheap pc around those parts for games like Guild wars 2
The rest of the parts i chose are:

PC Case - Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L mini case
Motherboard - ASUS M5A78L-M PLUS micro atx
CPU - AMD FX 8350
PSU - Zalman 500TX 80
HDD - just a 1tb 7200 rpm

I know the cpu is a bit old but it looks good for what i need and for the budget i have
What do you guys think about this build?

Also, would a mini itx case work with these parts ?

What is your budget excluding the parts you already have? The Ryzen 3 1200 is a better CPU for the price you'd pay for the older FX Series. You could pick up a cheap AM4 board for around the same price as the board you have listed. So your only problem would be the DDR4 RAM.

A mini-ITX case will not work. The smallest you could go is a mATX case.

The FX line is pretty much obsolete at this point especially when you begin to find some deals on 4th generation i5's (eBay) that just perform much better.
