As far as upgrades can go, you could add another stick of the same memory to total 16GB. And you could swap out the gpu for something beefier assuming the power supply could handle that and any additional overclocks done on the card as well as the processor. Otherwise the power supply would probably have to be switched.

If you can gather the budget now, I'd go with a z97 motherboard as it'd give you more upgrade options down the line between haswell and broadwell
