Question Building new PC - any input is appreciated

So, i successfully managed to kill my 6 year old PC by connecting a molex connector while the system was running. Lesson learned. Moving on. Building a new one.

Now I'm aiming for a kinda future proof system, where i have room for upgrades in the next 5-6 years. From the build i wrecked i have the case, a hyper 212 evo, and hopefully the HDD and the SSD, so i don't need to buy those. Also i have all my peripherials working. The goal is superb/good 1080p performance, with decent 1440p framerates for the future.
The system:
  • MOBO: Gigabyte Aorus Elite rev 1.0
  • CPU: Intel I5 8600k
  • RAM: HyperX Predator 3200Mhz CL16
  • VGA: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Aorus xtreme
  • PSU: Seasonic Focus Olus 650 Gold
The reasoning behind all this:
  • Mobo: after some hefty research hours, i found this motherboard is the best price / performance wise in this price range. Gonna get decent cooling and will try to join the 5Ghz club, might be an overreach tho
  • CPU: i was never gonna go for a locked cpu, and i found this as a good middle ground.
  • RAM: correct me if I'm wrong, but for this setup above 3000Mhz and CL16 there are no MAJOR performance differences. (spent less money on mem, more on cpu and vga)
  • PSU: it's not the best on the market, but it's decent enough. Wondering if the 650W would be enough for OC'ing everything inside the case?
  • VGA: oh man i wish i could get a 2080. But i can't. Where i live gtx1080's have a horror price tag, the 1070's also pricey, not to mention 1070ti. Was thinking about 1660Ti, but i believe the 2060 is slightly better for the same money. I was checking out other versions of 2060's, but didnt found any big performance gaps between aftermarket GPU's, so i might well stick with the color scheme.
I've been putting this together for a week and a half, and i would appreciate ANY kind of input. I have read a metric fuckton of forums, threads, articles, watched videos, talked to people about it, but i might be really wrong about some aspects.

Please feel free to criticize anything i've been put together, except for my english, i want to get the best parts for my money.

Looks good to me, the only problem is that intel gets limited for future upgrades. AM4 is here to stay.

To answer your questions, I'm from Hungary, and the budget is around €1000/$1200

Yeah, but you also did not consider that i have leftover parts. For the past 30 minutes i tried to fit a 2080 into the budget.. and i failed.
Im considering getting the cheaper 2600 you recommended, but with a 2070. Do you think that it will perform better overall, and will be better in the long run, even considering the non OC cpu and mobo? i mean i like the idea of a stronger vga, but cpu wise i'm kinda unsure.

All amd processors and motherboards are overclockable and the 2600 has great multicore performance. A r5 2600 and RTX 2070 would be a great gaming combo.

personally get 3600x and rtx 2070 due to fat it has much better multi threading scores!

Cannot play, watch series, do stuff on my pc, for obvious reasons, and can't ride my motorcycle, because my arm hurts like hell (nerve pain originating from my spine kinda pain). If not one of those circumstances, might consider waiting.

Did some math, i think i got the final build :
  • msi b450 tomahawk
  • ryzen 2600
  • hyperx predator 2x8gb 3200mhz/cl16
  • gigabyte rtx2080 wf3
  • seasonic plus gold 650
Its above the given budget, but this much i'm willing to pay right now to be upgradable, as future proof as it gets, and ready for next year when I'm gonna buy a 1440p144hz display.
The Ryzen idea you guys gave me... it nearly doubled the potential of the build by 50%. I couldn't be more grateful, THANK YOU.

(after minutes of research) My old case, a Zalman Z11 Neo. Bunch of cooling options is a big plus, it fits the biggest GPU's, also the evo212. Never going to buy zalman again tho, its... lackluster. I was wondering if i should buy a new case now, but i'm rather investing the money in things that matter. Might upgrade later, but meh, rather buying more storage, better cooling, or new peripherals.
While writing this answer, quickly checked, the evo212 will fit the am4 socket with a mounting kit. F.ckyeah!

Yeah but the stock cooler is going to do just fine. No aftermarket cooler is necessary, especially if you don't plan to overclock. For the Zalman Neo make sure you take the drive cage out on the bottom front if you can, so the front bottom intake fan can blow intake air underneath the RTX 2080. You'll have to take the drive cages out for the graphics card to fit.

Yeah i double checked. The funny thing is that the gigabyte g1 gtx 970, what was in it, is longer than the 2080 going in it's place.
