Thanks, I've gone ahead and updated the thread 😀

I can easily trim some fat off this build in order to cut the cost.

O/S SSD
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Tw...b-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-mz-v7s500bam
Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVME SSD $69.98
Thanks for the help! I took a look at everything and love it all! The main question I have is that I saw you had this first SSD listed for the O/S. Is it better to just have one storage device solely for the OS and put all other storage elsewhere? It makes sense, but I just want the clarification. I've always put everything on one drive in the past oops.

I just found this:
Intel Core i9-13900K 13th Gen 24 cores 8 P-cores + 16 E-cores 36M Cache, 3 to 5.8 GHz LGA1700 Unlocked Desktop Processor BX8071513900K - Best Buy
It just went on sale and is the better version (or maybe not better, I'm unsure) of the above CPU for cheaper due to the sale. Would you recommend me grabbing this one or is the original one better and or would getting this one cause potential compatibility issues.

Sorry for all the questions! The only other question I have is, I'm assuming with all the cooling that the overall noise of a build like this would be fairly low? Would you happen to be able to provide any knowledge on that. Thanks in advance! :)

Turned out to be a white themed case. Add in a 7900X3D for $599 and you are set.

EX900 ssd for OS and games. Rocket SSD for your video editing write disk and another for read disk for no bottleneck.

Separate O/S drive allows you to reformat without losing everything. Drop the second storage for now. You can always add one later on if you ever feel the need. As far as the 13900K goes .. it's a heat producing power hog.

The PSU here is just a cost placeholder for the Seasonic Vertex GX 1200W. Sadly I cannot figure out how to do a custom part on pcpartpicker anymore.

For AMD X3D flavor this is what I would do. It is very similar to @Why_Me 's build as far as storage structure goes, but a bit faster storage and with 64gb of RAM.

You might want to wait till the end of the month to see how the 7900x3d, and 7950x3d perform, and whether Microcenter will extend their free ram offer to those chips, like the non 3d chips. You can get a free 32gb kit of DDR5 6000, with purchase of a 7700x, 7900x, or 7950x, right now. They have a pretty killer deal on a 7900x, ram, and motherboard bundle as well.

There is no gpu that can gurantee 240FPS at 1440p with some of the most recent game titles. That's even with an RTX 4090.

The 13900k ($560) is the top of the heap by just a few frames compared to the 5800x3d ($320) nipping at it's heels and for a lot less money, heat and power draw.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-core-i9-13900k-i5-13600k-cpu-review/5

The 13700K ($380) and 7700X ($350) perform almost equally.

The LGA 1700 socket has come to an end. No further cpu upgrade possibility.

AMD just released the AM5 socket. Future cpu upgrade path.

The 5800x3d has proved it's an excellent design for a gmaing cpu. Not perfect but a game changer. The 7000x3d cpu's are using a different design to improve performance futher.

With AM5 you can go 7700x now, wait for the 7900x3d in a few weeks and in a couple years a 9900x3d.
