I'm also building a rig to buy in September. And from what I've gathered so far I can give you a couple of suggestions. Also assuming you aren't on a real tight budget.

cpu : solid

mobo : solid, although I would strongly recommend the IS7 w/865PE huge savings/minimal performance loss

memory : recommend (2)512mb or (1)512mb if you are on a budget of Corsair XMS PC3500 - I've read about possible stability issues with Corsair's PC3200 Low Latency sticks. Although I seem to only recall Asus boards having trouble.

hard drive : Strongly recommend Seagate Serial-ATA(SATA) 7200rpm or 10,000rpm(louder) drives.

video card : solid high-end budget card

Very nice setup though overall.

* Corsair is recommending against the use of 3200LL with the canterwood/springdale chipsets. Get two Corsair XMS PC3500 modules instead.

* Just wanted to make sure that you're aware that the IC7 (non -G version) doesn't have onboard LAN. So, you would have to buy a NIC (about ~$10-$15) if needed.

Very nice setup though overall.
Ditto! 😉

I would change the case. You are using Antec. I would suggest Antec Plus 1080AMG. That comes with True Power 430 watt Psu. Performance Plus series. That is their top of the line psu. Last time I looked New Egg had it for $118. Plus that Psu sells for $100

thanks for the replies guys! ok now i'll change my corsair

pc3200 to 512MB pc3500 and about the NIC i'll use my

current one, so i'll be getting ic7. Yeah, the antec case

i'm changing that too

here are some questions. If i get the OEM hdd do i have to

get the cable or does it come with it?

About the OCing the cpu, can i use the retail cooler that

comes with the cpu or do i have to buy one?

so here's my new rig
