Budget is 1500$ and must include the monitor but no other peripherals (or OS). I would rather have no glitches/tearing over high resolution. ODD and SSD should be included. Here are the builds that I have come up with so far. All recommendations are appreciated!

144htz is great, i have a 1080p 144htz monitor and I am actually better at battlefield 3, its not placebo my stats are better. You can definitely tell the difference immediately when you move your mouse around, everything is so much more smooth and 1440p 144htz would be fantastic.

And no the other parts do not bottleneck the 980ti, They are quality parts that are a good deal right now.

Worth the extra money to get a solid SSD?

I would recommend the s340 but it does not have a 5 1/2 inch bay, so the n200 is the next best thing IMO. And this is just the cheapest ODD with decent specs and a reputation there is, it usually doesn't matter what ODD you don't do a lot of disk reading/writing, they are partially obselete and many modern cases dont even have bays for them as you can just use a usb stick for everything.

and i know this is quite over budget :/

If you think it's worth it...it's not terribly over budget considering. And I have some old games that need the disk drive unfortunately.

Meh it's only like an additional 10 to make my life easier-haha it's the least expensive part of the build. Think that psu is quality enough...?

haha one more post on questions. difference between gtx980ti and the radeon fury? cooler/fan? processor high enough to match incredibly expensive GPU? ti really worth money over 970?

currently the GTX 980ti is the best GPU for gaming on the market and outperforms the fury and the fury x in benchmarks. @ gtx 970s in sli match the performance of a 980ti for the most part so a single 970 isn't even close.

If you want a to game on a 144 htz 1440p monitor the gtx 980ti is the way to go, if 1080p 60fps is fine i could redo your entire build and make it a lot cheaper.

I haven't had the 144hz before-if you think it's worth it I'll spend the extra on the enhanced build. And I'm glad you don't think the ti compromises the rest of the parts

Can you recommend a similar but different monitor? The reviews were okay, but i'm paying almost 500$ so I want to know my options.

I am also spending a lot of money so i want to spend under 100$ on a case but I want it to look solid. LEDs or something. I was looking at the Rosewill balckhawk, corsair obsidian or antec 900.
