Built PC FPS Issues

I helped a friend build a PC, it all works great, but in most games there are considerably low FPS in older games, even at the lowest settings. He can run the Source engine at full speed, but World of Warcraft at lowest settings gets 15 FPS at best. Dirt 2, that came with the HD5870 runs at around 5-10 fps at lowest settings. Obviously somethings wrong, when a PC like this should be blowing away these games from what i know.


I'm not sure on a format to go listing specs but here it is

I7 920
Radeon HD5870 Sapphire
2gb ramx3
EVGA x58 3x sli motherboard
850v "Dark Beret" PSU

If im missing anything let me know
(also if im in the wrong section, i apologize, i dont know much about computer building)

I forgot to mention, Hes able to run the source engine at maxed graphics and resolution at full speed, but that seems to be the only game that runs smoothly besides warcraft 3.
