Burning Smell, No Display, No Power on keyboard

Hi.. i recently got a problem on my pc.. its been 2 weeks already and i dont know what to do, so i was probably gonna go to the repair shop, but still was looking for some answer so i can save my money..

so this happens, i was doing some online work for my assignment while listening for some music on youtube.. but suddenly my pc shutdown like someone plugged it out, also i notice that my pc smells like fried..i remove the side cover and cant identify where the smell is, its like both the psu and the in between of my mobo and smells a little bit fried, specially at the lower part of my psu it smells greater there.. so i waited a few moments and powered on my pc.. but cant enter to the bios, my monitor is on sleep mode couz i see the led is blinking blue, my mouse is working fine because the razer lights is on, my red dragon mechanical keyboard is not working, supposed it lights up when i open my pc..

i checked the inside of my pc while running, the mobo lights are there, fan cpu is running also the case fan is running, but when i open my pc it usually beep one time, now it just boots without a beep.. i dont know whats wrong with my pc.. is it broke? fried? i suspect its either my mobo or psu or maybe both? i wasnt really sure where the smell really is, still doubting

i already tried.
reset the cmos through remove the battery and jumper
reseat the ram
remove the gpu and try to boot it..

my pc specs is:
cpu:i5 4440k
mobo:asus b 85m-g
gpu:msi gtx 1060 twin frozr
psu:fsp hexa series he 600
hdd: 2x 1tb wd blue
ram: 1 sticks kingston hyper x blu 8gb ram


hope someone helps! dont want to waste too much money on it.. i was still a student tho so i cant earn enough money to buy some stuffs..

Sounds like your psu and mobo are fried, especially if peripherals aren't getting power and it is not making it to POST. Do not use that psu again if it smells like it is fried. The only thing you can really do is test the various components in another build to see which ones are damaged.

Currently i sent it to repair shop, and i might get it nxt week..due to busy schedule at school.. hopefully not both of them is fried because i can only afford to buy one of them right now.. i havent overuse my pc but i was thinking maybe the parts where old enough and they start to fail, the only new one in my pc is the gpu which 8 month old, and the other hdd like 2 month old.. but anyway thx for the help tho

Where did you get the PC from? Did you build it yourself, or was it prebuilt? The FSP hexa series isnt that good of a unit, but a LOT of prebuilt companies source them as OEMs.

it was given by a friend of my sister which relatively close to me, i think it was late 2016 when i receive it.. the only thing i add in this pc is the gpu and another hdd, overall i havent anything since i get it..

Remove your GPU card and see if that changes anything.

My PC shutdown exactly as you described: Sudden as if the plug was pulled. It wouldn't boot, spin any fans or make any beeps with the GPU plugged in. Removing it and running in integrated graphics worked. For me a fried GPU stopped the whole system. It's worth a try.

tried it.. my gpu is working, i ask my friend to tried it, and no problem at all.. was thinking that my mobo or psu is fried..took it to repair shop, and i might get it nxt week couz i was out of town for family vacation.. hopefully, it gets fix tho.. anyway thx for the answer, greatly appreciated
