First of all, hi everyone. This is my first post, n since i'm also a new member, please be kind to me. and thank you for your respons for my post.

i wanna do my new build and i gonna pick C2D for my proc, and since i;m just an average user i think i'm gonna go with E6300 just fine. problem is i confuse with what mobo should i choose. the one that quiet affordable for me is Gigabyte 965P DS3. any suggestion or whatever problems you guys know from combinations of C2D n DS3?

Thanks.

I have a E6400 coupled with a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 and it works perfectly.

Thanks for your reply...
Are there any performance differences between using DDR2 667, DDR2 800 or DDR2 1066?

Generally performance will go up a bit, but better RAM also gives you more headroom for overclocking.

I have an E6600 on a 965P-DS3 and I'm just waiting on my Corsair PC2-8500 as we speak. Should be fun.

I have a E6600 and DS3, I am really happy with it. It overclock pretty well for me. 1.425V can push it to FSB 363. It can go higher but I am having some issue with my water block spacer, I can't fix it because it would hurt my back moving my water rig. Anyway full load at FSB 363 for hours would peak at 62C. I heard people say they can do better than that with air. I believe them, wished my koolance water block didn't need the spacer, so it would have more direct cooling, but for DS3 the spacer is required. 🙁

What about RAM CAS Latency?
