I've tried to get on the elite servers many, many times throughout the day on xbox. I haven't been successful yet. They have huge overpopulation problems if that's what it really is.

Kiddie consoles and no-brainer commercialism are ruining real PC gaming... Console companies are strong-arming software developers into only releasing on their generic platforms now that they have massive selling power. Sells consoles... makes problem worse. They don't care about hard-core true gamers on PC's -- they want cookie-cutters, and easy money harvest from peer-pressure prone and not necessarily intelligent youngsters who then grow up only knowing the inscrutible BOX -- never knowing the joys of a hot-rod, personalized gaming rig with mind-blowing performance and latest graphics.. Neo did not use a console in the Matrix -- no real computer person does. But then 80% of the people polled think their IQ is above average....!? and many of the lower 70% of those only know consoles. In commerce, as well as in democracy, the lowest common denominator ends up making the decisions by default.

I've played MW2 and Black Ops (on PC) and for the most part they are quite fun. But, because of COD, or more because of COD's success, that every FPS that comes out these days seems overly generic and too COD-like, or at the least, with COD's mechanics.

I felt this ruined my favourite FPS series, F.E.A.R. The first game was amazing, second one seemed a bit dumbed down for consoles, but still retained most of the first game's mechanics which made it interesting. Then came F.3.A.R. Oh boy. No joke, the campaign felt as if I was playing a COD in a literally just darker setting.

That's just one example. Consoles are the other reason why so many games these days seem so limited, not just in graphics, but gameplay too.

Sad to think that COD was at first a true PC game, then slowly as focus turned to consoles, PC no longer seemed relevant concerning game development (I know PC games sell pretty well, thanks to Steam), sadly as it seems with Elite in a sense (even though MW3 PC players were promised amazing after-sales service and game support), that we'll only get console ports with less support.

Did you really just use a Matrix reference for talking about real life? And what does IQ have do do with what gaming platform you play on? I mean, really?

I mainly have a PC gaming background since the early 90s and where my heart is, but have owned most consoles since the NES, but always went back to my PC. But you can't ignore the impact consoles have had on gaming as a whole. Also just think about all the game IPs that have only been on consoles, or got there start there. Most of my gaming for the past 5 years has been on my PS3 I bought five years ago. Would I love to have a gaming rig right now, yes. But is it necessary for my life and well being, no.

Developers go where the money is and pretty much always have. Just about all companies (whatever they sell) go where the money is. Since you bring up percentages , I would probably say the ENTIRE gaming community is about 70% (consoles) - 30% (PC Gamers). So, if it was you, where would you be putting your money? Also, with the iteration of the PS3 and Xbox 360, people like myself who would call themselves "PC elitists" could get away with what these consoles offered. Never thought I would see that day I played an FPS with a controller (Medal of Honor was great on the PSX though), but I got over myself, and have just as much fun as I did with my PC.

I wanted to go somewhere else with this, but I don't want to rant. Long and the short of it, consoles will always be around. Most people just want to play games and not have to worry about sitting at a desk (want to relax on the couch), worry about drivers, worry about what specs their computers are and what FPS they will get, etc., they just want to pop in a game and play.

Reading many of the comments above I can agree on alot of the points made. Living in a college, the only other people who play the the PC are starcraft II gamers(which are about 1 in 100). I have friends that play on consoles and the PC vs console discussion comes up once in a while. What I gathered is that console users want gaming to be easy and have negative stereotypes about PC gaming and that it involves extensive knowledge about PC setup. Others believe that a console is cheaper. (which is NOT true). All in all we can put a good amount of blame on laptops. I have repaired so many that are just POS. The things laptop manufacturers will do to make a dime is amazing and seeing as almost every college kid has one you can image how it make one feel about gaming on the PC. You also have the fact that most parents gave their children consoles like me. Moving on to PC gaming when I was 13, I realized that the little setup that was required for PC gaming was well worth it. I guess I was one of the lucky ones though, just my thoughts on the state of gaming.

Craptivision,do the PC a favour and don't release that crap series on the PC in the future. No PC Gamer in his right mind will buy MW3 over BF3.Heres my analysis
Visuals-BF3 DESTROYS MW3.MW3 looks like counterstrike compared to BF3.It even has destruction as icing on the cake
Gameplay-BF3 easily.Just go prone and then stand a see how realisitic that is.Even knifing someone is fun in BF3 then COD
Guns-BF3.All guns have realisitc recoil. In COD,the gun doesnt HAVE Recoil whatsoever.lol
Server-64 players with jets.enough said

All these factors make me wonder why COD even exists on PC.

Just more proof that they do not care about PC gamers. Elite is up and running for consoles, but not for PC. Here's another fun fact. On certain Mountain Dew bottles theres a code for double xp in MW3 multiplayer. I bought a bottle, logged into the site and what do i discover? You can only use the double xp code for consoles! WTF!

[citation][nom]airborne11b[/nom]I'm too busy playing BF3 (A real PC game) to care about console crap products lol.[/citation]
You DO know that EA screwed us with BF3 and made DICE switch focus to console halfway through development, right? So no, not a true PC game. Not like they promised us, anyway.

On topic though, this made me lol, since I hate COD's arcade style. Just not fun for me. To each their own, though!
