Ok I plead ignorance. Why is everyone so PO'd? What did the publisher do other than not providing dedicated servers? Please explain. I have little time to keep up with these things but I really enjoyed COD4.

[citation][nom]ern88[/nom]Well, Hopefully my ASUS P5K-E with 4 gigs ram. Intel E8400 dou 3.0 ghz and my NVIDIA 9800 SGTX will run her good. Sure it will. BRING IT ON. THIS WILL BE EASILY GAME OF THE YEAR FOR SURE.[/citation]

If you posted that just to show everyone your system specs...fail. You are on a tech enthusiast website and the system would be considered avg for most of us on here.

all you dweebs look for any little excuse to pirate a game. waaah it doesn't have dedicated servers waaah it has DRM. you were going to pirate it anyway, don't pretend this is just part of your high and mighty crusade against evil IW. what a joke.

Show everyone system specs? What? I'm green and confused. Time for another toke. At this point the only thing I'm sure about is what the internet is for...

Bah, stop whining over the lack of dedicated servers, just means less potential for cheating / hacks. In the short term you'll have to play on infinity's servers, big deal. In the long run we all know there will be multiple workarounds, pirate servers, modded versions of the game, etc.

Really not something to worry about.

Saddly I was never going to get MW2 for PC because all my friends dont have high end PCs so We play on the 360, so this is the game of the fall for us 360 players, but Dragon Age for PC for the Win... I was never a fan of playing online shooters on dedicated servers because too many people use mods and cheat. i just want to play the game and level up.

I'll be buying this game for the same reason I bought the first Modern Warfare, the single player campaign. I payed more than RRP too because there was a shortage at the time. And you know what? Worth every cent.

To all the whiners here, why do you give a toss about not being able to setup your own or play on your mate's dedicated servers? Why does that matter? Just use the regular ISP-hosted servers like EVERYONE ELSE.

Went into gamestop today and switched the $30 I had down on modern warfare 2 to assassin's creed 2. I was going to get assassin's creed sometime after modern warfare 2 but with no dedicated servers it's not even worth my time.

those specs could be there a loooong time to come. threaded and more cores don't matter kids...its the bandwidth for a given hertz, and way functions function. The micron levels dropping is the big news for evolution. The prescott generation will be the oldest computer equipment in the history of computing before this does not change....AGP is future anyway...

[citation][nom]gorehound[/nom]i won't support what they did to the gaming community.if i play this at all and a big if it will be free.[/citation]

Yup. IW are you listening?
I will grab a torrent of your hours of work. Spend an evening generating a "that was pretty, too bad no real multi-player servers" feeling. I will play it briefly.

Then into the can. Never to be heard from again.

The killer is, those specs , HOWERVER low, = Lack luster play.. It also means a direct port from console..
Non dedicated server = cluster f#$^.. for multi play. BF2, BF2142 did soo well, as boom, people can jump on , WITH THEIR TEAM, and play, TRUE co-op..

Hodgepodge= Epic fail.. In the more so fact, of the company are catering to the console. YES i know console = more money... PC= PEOPLE who SPEND much more money, JUST to play a game. AND i am one of them. I will gladly spend $1000 UPGRADE if the game is right. NATURALLY i have other uses for my PC versus playing a GAME.. DUH.. I just dont get it with publishers at time.. Battle field 2 BC, HERE I COME.. PS $55 for a game i can finish in 1 setting sucks.. the online play is what draws the gamers in the first place..PC gamers that is

I havz a quad core 2 duo 2.7 jiggahertz overcocked to 2.71 and 8 gigglehurtz of ROM, with a envydia 512 megawatts video card.
Beat that system......
jk, CODMw2 is dissapointing

[citation][nom]Jclonts82[/nom]Don't buy it. They spit in the faces of loyal PC gamers for the sake of profit, whatever they might say the reasons are for their decisions.[/citation]

I support! I will torrent the shit out of it and distribute free copies to anyone who asks just to piss them off. I don't care, they gave us PC gamers the finger. I'm not holding back.

Rule #1 never buy a game specifically made for consoles.
Example: Wolfenstein, Loved it on the PC even my wife wanted to get it until she and I found out how badly done the multi-player was.

#2 It supports servers and runs well on a PC but was dumbed up for consoles, buy it for $15 only. Example UT3.

Most of the time I think when a game is ported for the PC the specs are low because of all the compromises in the code to get it to work with minimal effort and maximum profit. Even if they add server support I doubt it will be worth anything.

You sound like a young game console player. I don't think you would ever understand.

My thoughts too. THW comment threads are pathetic with all the moronic pie losers, flaunting their disgusting sense of entitlement.
I'll buy this game and try it, because I like COD. None of you even know what "no dedicated servers" will mean for this game. It says nothing about what server service this game will have.
I'll try it. ...THEN - if it feels like a shitty console port - I'll bitch and gripe about it at every opportunity everywhere endlessly.

moejoe4420 :

If you play COD for the single player. There's no need.

If you like to play COD for the multiplayer, then no dedicated servers could be a nightmare due to, lag, immature players and cheating.

Dedicated servers usually have a good community, other players who actually know how to do teamwork and an admin that will help players ban annoying people and cheaters.

IW.net will not have one of those.

[citation][nom]brett_monkey[/nom]I will not buy this game. No dedicated servers or mods = no purchase.[/citation]

I know you will buy it.

with those specs we are going to get playstation 2 type graphics.....

id go with a minimum of a 9800gt on that game if I were a newbie to pc gaming so to at least get decent resolution to close to max settings with that card....

What are the minimum specs for dual or quad cores?
I mean there are more dual/quadcores on the market than single cores P4 3,2Ghz.

So what if I have a dual core 1,66Ghz, or 2,5Ghz, will I be able to run it?
