Hi everyone so I reset my Cisco modem to factory defaults or so I thought by sending the write erase and vlan.dat delete commands now I can’t log into the modem using Ethernet and pointing to its default IP address my only way of communication is via console port and hyper terminal.
Any help on what has happened would be greatly appreciated.

Although I would have to look up the details this is pretty standard for cisco commercial routers.

The vast majority if you factory reset them the very initial configuration must be done via console. You pretty much only have to add IP addresses and enable the http/https to get into gui mode.

Some of their equipment comes with this enabled by default but historically cisco commercial gear is not really meant to be configured via web. There are still many features that the gui just launches a black console screen and you must key in the commands......just via the web browser rather than ssh or console.

I forget the exact command to enable the http/https feature it is in the manual.
