Question Can’t update from 1803 error 0x80004005

Hi guys I’ve tried my best to solve this but no look , I can’t restore or reset my pc as apparently no restore point , help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Try: Doing a Windows 10 Repair Install or Feature Update Using the Windows 10 ISO file

If you are able to boot into your existing Windows 10 installation, this should work.

Did it all got 89% then a window pops up saying windows 10 installation has failed , I have attempted this twice and failed both times

Have you tried Using SFC (System File Checker) and DISM (Deployment Imaging Servicing and Management) to Repair Windows 8 & 10 before trying to do the update?

I am not at all certain this will help, but you may get some further data.

My guess is that you're going to have to resort to doing a completely clean reinstall of Windows 10:

a) Completely Clean Win10 (Re)install Using MCT to Download Win10 ISO File

b) Completely Clean Win10 (Re)install Using MCT to Create a Bootable USB Drive

Thanks mate that sorted it! Had to change my ssd from MBR to GPT, then it worked cheers bro life saver 😘

You're quite welcome.

I can't imagine how an SSD would have been MBR format in the first place (unless it had previously been used in an old machine to extend its life). Anything that's been placed new in a machine since Windows 8 should be GPT to begin with (or if purchased uninitialized should have been initialized to GPT).
