Can a 20+4 pin fit into 24 pin to 12 pin cable

Hello i have a r9 270x and a ms7829 motherboard microstar but the psu in my country dont fit in it because its a 12 pin motherboard so i found a 24 pin to 12 pin adapter so im asking if i can just plug the 20+4 pin into the 24-12 pin adapter or i need to buy a 24 pin psu help pls

In theory it should work, but I never try it, so I am not 100% sure.

And keep in mind, 1) does your PC use the uefi BIOS or legacy BIOS? 2) what OS did you use? because if you used win8 or up, when you add the non-OEM GPU into the OEM PC ( like your Acer PC), you may or may not have compatibility problem too.

So you may test other GPU first, make sure the non-OEM GPU works with your PC, then buy the more powerful PSU for the r9 270x.
