[SOLVED] can a copy of windows be infected by a virus?

Hy (before I start I want to tell you that I can't speak English very well. ) My qestion is-can virtual copy of windws be infected by a virus.I mean if my old laptop have viruses and i paste the windows key on other pc,did the viruses infect second computer?

Might want to read this. So long as you don't tamper with Windows Protection, you should be secure with the antivirus already bundled on the OS.

Assuming this Windows install came with the laptop, you can't use that OS license on a different system.

But no, the license key cannot carry a virus. It's just letters and numbers.

Do a fresh install from a USB then just type in license. Easy as pie.

The key is just saying "Hey, I bought Windows" so no chance for it to be infected. But, you might need to know your key's type (if it came installed with the PC you bought, you most likely can't use its code on another PC.) and you might end up disinfecting the PC if you want to, create another thread with it and we'll try helping.
