Can anyone help with my overclock?

I just recived and put my system into a thermaltake armor LCS. Anxious to see how much the water cooling would help my overclock i went to work, but was dissapointed because i wasnt able to achieve ad high of an OC than i did on air. System was crashing and acting a little wierd, and when i ran prime95 i instantly got this error(ERROR: ILLEGAL SUMOUT
Possible hardware failure, consult readme.txt file, restarting test.) and it crashed out. I have only been able to get the system to 2.7ghz, and befor i had it as high as 3.15ghz. my core voltage was at 1.35v with the cpu set to 300mhz * 9, idle temps were in the mid 20 degrees C about 26c 27c. if anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. if yoiu need more info on my system please ask. Memory has changed to Patriot Viper ddr2 800, and video card is now a msi 880gt, but the later of the 2 shouldnt have an effect on the OC.

the ram might be a factor, run memtest to see if ram is good.

ran memtest for about an hour with no errors, will run it through the night once i get all my comp stuff done that i need to. some other info that might be helpfull is that im running Vista ultimate 64bit.

cpu clock @ 2.7ghz

Im sure your vcore might be a factor, The e4500 does need more than 1.35 to be stable at the speed you want it, Try raising it up to the next highest and run Orthos/prime again using cpu grommacs core in orthos for the cpu and blend for the memory. Set your ram to the lowest divider in bios to rule out stressing your ram.

It is the e4300, is that what you ment or is it still likely to need more volts. Just went through and cleaned up my wiring job inside the case and while i was doing that did a full cmos clear. Starting to OC again now and system seems more stable. Will keep everyone upto date.

Once again ive overlooked the little things. clearing the cmos worked computer is not acting all screwey now, and im currently running at 2.97ghz(330 x 9) on stock volts. my ram is underclocked right now(following some of mog's advice)

Glad to help, Thats some serious speed you have there but keep an eye on your temps, Make sure you have thermal throttling enabled in the bios which will stop you frying your chip, I did mean the e4300, One of my rigs has an E4500 at 3.0Ghz and that needs 1.3500v in bios,

yeah the system is water cooled so my temps are staying nice and cool 19c idle using real temp. around 32c under load.
