Can connect wifi but not hard wire...why?

Hello,I have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router and I can connect to the WiFi, but not via hard wire...any ideas why?

Bad Cable.
Is the NIC enabled

seconded with emarald's opinion....bad ethernet cable or bad ethernet port on either the router's or computer's end..also device manager's ethernet adapter status could be of much help....
