Hello, I purchased a Gateway GT5676 (specs: http://shopper.cnet.com/desktops/gateway-gt5676-phenom-x4/4014-3118_9-32976288.html) and I realized once I opened the box that it has an HDMI connection, but NO DVI connection. I would have liked to have an DVI connection instead, in order to hook it up to my 22 inch widescreen monitor (1680 * 1050), which does not have an HDMI input. Is there a way to add a DVI connection on the desktop? Is this connection only available on a good graphics card, which means I would have to replace it? If so, would I need to upgrade the power supply as well? This computer only comes with 300 W power supply, which is not great.

(The reason I bought this particular computer, for those who are wondering, is that I wanted to get an upgrade to my Pent. 4. I found the GT5676 at BestBuy for $449.99, on clearance. Advertised on their website is $679.99, so check out the store.

Thanks for any help.

You can buy adapters for that stuff, like HMDI to DVI. Just make sure you get the genders right, like female HDMI to male DVI or whatever you need.

I had to get one because my monitor didn't have DVI, just VGA and HDMI. I was slightly annoyed.

Thanks for the postings. This helped a lot. I had no idea that there are adaptors. Apparently I this is a commong issue.
Thanks
