Can i delete a user on my dell computer

i got a used computer that has a user that I would like to remove for more memory. Will it remove anything major on my computer

You need to log in with an account that has administrator rights and then remove the user.

Whether you lose anything is dependent on how software was installed by that user. If they installed software and made it only available to them then you will not be able to use it.
