I saw that the 290 has the highest power consumption, and im afraid that my psu might get fried, cause i have the cpu oc'ed(not high oc,but its stil an oc).Is there a better idea psuwise, instead of the 290,with the same wattage requirements?

I have a spent limit of 300,i apologize for not telling you,and therefore the 970 is out of my league. So i guess you will recommend the gtx 780?And one more question, should i pair a amd cpu with an nvidia card,or is it better to pair it with an amd one?Do i get a better efficiency if i pair same brands?
