Question Can I soak laptop keys and clips in soapy lukewarm water?

Hot water will deform plastic...lukewarm will only loosen/remove the grime or oils on them, nothing more. You should be good though can you elaborate on what you're referring to with "clips"?

The white scissor clip thingies under the key
Edit: I googled it, they're called hinges
Edit #2: hinge clips.

You don't remove the scissor switches off the keyboard, if you did, good luck putting them back in without tampering with the clips. Be prepared to buy a replacement keyboard if the clips don't go back in or your keyboard acts up after reassembly. Using too much force to remove the keycaps is also a bad idea, if you didn't remove the keycaps yet.

But why not? There was all sorta gunk under, and I know how to do it. Wdym tampering with the clips? Also I put one back in with the key cap and everything and it's acting normal. I try to use a bit of force at the right spots, if I feel like it's not wanting to come off I just stop and adjust. Thanks for warning me!
