So I broke my laptop screen last week and I've been wondering if I can upgrade my laptop display with higher resolution...
Current resolution is 1366X768
Wanna upgrade to 1080p display..

I hope it is possible : )

Solution
You shop in ebay or where usually? There is tons of models to choose from. I would myself just order the monitor first and test it with this cable. Looks like it works more than likely.

I found your cable ( same model number) pulled out of Lenovo 310-15iKB https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-310-15iKB-LCD-Display-Video-Cable-5C10L35864-/283632521105

And following this thread seems like 310-15iKB is upgradable to 1080p panels with the same cable : https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...from-Hd-to-Fhd-ideapad-310-15isk/td-p/4091260
Generally, you can upgrade laptop screens if they are:
a) of the exact same dimensions
b) have the exact same connectors and pinout
c) can be supported by your GPU.

Some laptop models cannot be upgraded due to form factor so keep that in mind.
I think the one i saw yesterday while searching was 30 pin display..and apparently mine is same too

You need 2 lane EDP cable for 1080p lcd screen to work, there is alot of models to choose from with same connector this is the only issue. Could you take pic of the cable where it says this info?
while searching if my cable is 1 lane or 2 lane i found out this website
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo...ooks/Lenovo-U430p-screen-upgrade/td-p/2155302
this guy is trying what i am. and he failed probably because of BIOS blacklist
edit: i read whole post he did it, with different 2 lanes connector which is not blacklisted

also i dont need cable right, i just need compatible display panel

Most likely you dont need new cable, post here if you get problems with the new screen. If bios dont accept the panel you wont get black screen just a message about it before you get into Operating system, this is atleast on older lenovo laptops (dont worry about this yet)

Bios whitelist / blacklist wont be an issue , you can either use older bios version or flash modified version later on if needed. Thing is these lenovo laptops most likely have bios rewrite protection so i hope it dont go for that.

k that connector is in the same place in your new panel and its "30 pin video connector " and look the picture too, there is glossy and matte options, also some sell TN panels (might be also 120hz pane
Just check that connector is in the same place in your new panel and its "30 pin video connector " and look the picture too, there is glossy and matte options, also some sell TN panels (might be also 120hz panels but these are expensive)
ok will do
and 120hz will be overkill for my system. i would do it if i had better specs
