Hi Guys, Just got my PC back.

The motherboard has been changed to a GA-EP43T-UD3L. On my motherboard I had 3x 2GB 1066mhz DDR3 memory chips.

I have noticed that new motherboard takes 1600+ is there any way I can get my old and new RAM to work (So I can have 8gb)

I tried Installing the old RAM but it boots for 2seconds and then reboots, so apparently it doesnt like it

Any Help would be appreciated, thanks

probably possible. not suggested though.

if you play around with your timings and speed it is possible to get both sticks to work together.

you will have to underclock the 1600mhz ram. you have to get teh settings at something that both sticks are happy to run at. which is typically done by underclocking/timing the faster of the 2 sticks.

voltage could be an issue. it is all both complicated and simple.

1066 is pretty damn slow for ram. should probably just get another 1600 stick.

what is all of the information for both sticks of ram? timings? voltage?
