So I was looking up lga775 motherboards from gigabyte and I found a Gigabyte GA-5EASV-RH and it has the chipset 3000 it says on the website only supports Intel®Prescott Processors and
Intel®Celeron Processors
but I looked up the Intel 3000 chipset and that chipset supports the X3230 So I want to check if it would work and could you explain why it doesn't work (if it doesn't work) if it has a chipset that supports that cpu

Solution
Looks like it supports up to the following:

Pentium4 (Prescott) 3.73G/1066MHz 2M QBFJ ES
Pentium4 (Prescott) 3.4G/800MHz 2M SL7Z7
Pentium4 (Prescott) 2.8G/800MHz 1M QJ23 ES
Pentium4 (Cedar Mill) 3.6G/800MHz 2M C1 QMRJ ES
Celeron D (Cedar Mill) 3.6G/533MHz 512k C1 QQIA ES
PentiumD (Presler) 3.6G/800MHz 2M C1 QMUR ES

This is direct from their QVL list, they simply may have never added BIOS support for it.

It specifically is BIOS related. If the BIOS doesn't have the microcode to recognize the CPU its not going to run.

So in theory if someone were to code in the microcode into a bios update, some cheap motherboards that only supports Pentiums could then run core 2 quads, core 2 duos, etc. but i'm assuming you would need alot of coding knowledge and it wouldn't be easy to code in xeon microcode.

In theory, sure. In practice, thats not just something someone could pick up and do, its very complicated. You also still have the wattage limitation of the board. The power delivery system may not support certain levels of processor as well.
