Hey all,
I'm genuinely at a loss.
New system with:
Mobo: Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite WiFi 7, revision 1.2,
CPU: 9800X3D
RAM: Corsair CMH64GX5M2B6000Z30 64GB DDR5 6000 cl30
At first it threw IO issue codes, and then memory codes, I cycled through all the stick variations etc, didn't work, I flashed the latest bios through q plus, and it loaded straight to the windows login screen on my old boot drive (with only monitor and boot USB plugged in).
Through all this time I've never actually seen the Aorus splash screen, don't know what the bios looks like.
I can't actually log into windows, it's detected a hardware change and locked my pin. No drivers loaded so I can't get access wifi to authenticate my account. It's just the login page. My keyboard worked though, so I was happy to see that the USB devices seemed to be working?
Except if I restart with a peripheral attached, it fails to boot even to the windows login on the old boot drive. Unplug the USB, reset, and it goes straight to the Windows login screen. Plug it back in and it never gets that far again.
I re-flashed the bios, reset CMOS, have watched it cycle through memory training codes and successfully jump back into windows. I'm not really suspicious that the CPU or memory could be faulty, there is no chance it would ever boot into Windows if there was a problem right? Same with the board? I genuinely don't know.
Since it sees my USB devices at some point I removed my windows boot drive and my USB and reset - nothing. Stops at a 00 code and a lit boot LED. Reset CMOS etc etc eventually ends up at the same thing.
I have never seen the motherboad splash screen, have never been able to access the BIOS, I can't confirm it properly sees or likes the memory and CPU but it's launched into the windows login screen just fine?
I've built a bunch of computers, I've done my troubleshooting 5 times over, I am at a loss. Some people say use a VGA connector since drivers aren't loaded but the board only has HDMI. All connections have been triple checked. The noctua DH-15 is tightened to spec, it's AM5 socket so foolproof easy to install, all fans are spinning, power button and LEDs work. Haven't bothered with a GPU since it has onboard graphics but it would also only be either hdmi or displayport out.
Latest update, without any drives in it gets to Ad code which is "Issue Ready To Boot event for OS Boot.".
If anyone has any ideas please let me know! Thanks.
I'm genuinely at a loss.
