Hello everyone, I am here with a really annoying issue today. I could not find any solution out there so I had to ask here.

First of all, I'm sorry if I'm breaking any rules, but I couldn't find the rules section and forgive me if I made a spelling mistake or if I am in wrong forum section, that is my first time using any forum.

I am having issues with games for a long time, I have tried so many things but most of them did not really helped me.

My most recent problem occurs while I am playing FC24, I get error message:
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands"). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti", Driver: 54633.

I have bought my desktop nearly 6 or 7 years ago and I was getting same error 1 year after I bought my computer and still could not solved it yet. I have sent it to where I bought and they said it does not has any failure in their tests.
I have tried too many various stuff such as
  • Adding TdrLevel, TdrDelay, TdrDdiDelay to registery to prevent directx to check computer.
  • sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and such commands on command prompt as administrator.
  • Run benchmarks on Heaven and did not encounter any error in ultra settings.
  • Updated GPU drivers. (Used GeforceExperiance and manual updating separately).
  • Used DDU to provide a clean update for GPU.
  • Bios is up-to-date.
  • Windows is up-to-date.
  • Ran memtest, nothing found.
  • Updated to windows 11.
  • I have read Strix 1080 Ti is overclocked by default so I tried to underclock the GPU but I am not really knowledgeable about underclocking so I can only find some settings on GPU Tweak 3, which are Power Target, GPU Boost Clock, Memory Clock. I have tired to decrease values but did not help at all.
  • Also tried to increase the same values but same, did not help.
  • Tried to undervolt the GPU with MSI AfterBurner, did not help.
  • I checked cables in the case by myself everything is tight.
  • Changed thermal paste of CPU.
  • Changed slots of rams.
  • Tried each ram alone.
  • Set computer for best performance.
  • Checked debug mode in NVIDIA Control Panel to try base settings.
  • Tried to download DirectX from microsoft's website and stated I have already lates version.
  • Tried to repair all redistributable programs from microsoft.
  • Closed in-game overlay for game platform.
  • With Easy Gamer Utility, I cleared caches of GPU, CPU and game platforms.
My system specs are
  • Asus Rog Strix 1080Ti 11GB GPU.
  • Gigabyte Aorus Gaming Motherboard x370-k5.
  • [2x8] Corsair Vengeance 2666MHz Ram.
  • Amd Ryzen 7C 1800x 4ghz CPU.
  • Samsung 960Evo 512 GB SSD.
  • With 750W Gold power supply, (if I am not wrong it should be from Corsair).
Here is some minidumps I have (There is 3 BSOD minidumps and others are created by FC24), they might be useful to diagnose the problem, I also attached the DxDiag.txt from Dxdiag.
Minidump files link here - Google Drive.

I have tried to check my minidumps by myself but I do not really know what they are, but I have just found the error
Video_scheduler_internal_error (119) on the image named dxgmms2 sys

And also there is a thing, I do not know what is it but while watching videos from youtube, sometimes my screen looks like refreshes. I do not know if it is part of my problem but here is another information.

To be honest, I do not know what to do, I cannot try with different components because I do not have anything rather than my computer.
I want to thank everyone here in advance.

Updated to windows 11.
I see you have did your home work trying to solve this issue.
Question was your Windows 11 a clean install or upgrade in place from 10 to 11.

Things I would do if this came to me.

Verify the integrity of game files. Test Game again If it did find any issues.

Temporarily disconnect your hard drives and throw in a tester SSD. Start from ground zero and install Windows 11/ updates and all drivers.

Maybe throw in 2015 c++ redistribution for good measure 64 bit and 32 bit versions.

Install your FC24 and test.

By doing the above you will have 1 of 2 outcomes.

The best out come would be your now working like you should.

Outcome 2 would be same issues as before. That would point you to having hardware problems. You removed any and all quarks in your pre existing Windows install by using tester SSD with all fresh install.

I did read you have no other system or parts to test but it also might come down to doing that in the future if outcome 2 happens.

You have a video card device driver crash (or lockup which is more or less the same thing).

If you are seeing this with multiple games, then the most common reasons are device driver bugs or a bad video card.

Borrow a video card from a friend and try it out for a day.

As far

I tried both clean installation from usb and inside the clean-up system in windows.

I have tried this and re-installed whole game.

I have external 2TB hard disk, I have tried installing without that.

I actually did not understand what you meant here. I have tried to repair redistributions from control panel, is it what you mean?

Any furter I will try last "real" clean installation one more time and if the issue persist, I will take the desktop to repair shop one last time.
Thank you for contribution.

#Edit 1.
I have rolled back to Win10, Installed all Redistributions , .NET frameworks and DirectX manually.
Firstly I leave my GPU driver as it is (Lates version was something 553 mine was 543) but did not helped at all.

Tried entering new registry for MachineGuid as d1eb246e-6243-4460-a88e-5d4e52b1ef6b. I guess that helped a bit, I have played 4 games in a row. But unfortunatelly crashed with same DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error.

Do not know what to do anymore.

Thanks for help

#Edit 2 here, as I said I was upgraded to win 11 and it was still crashing then I just wanted to roll back win 10 as stated in last edit. Then just wanted to use one of my 2 year old windows 10 usb disk to clean disk and trying applying windows 10 again. And here is something I cannot even understand, sometimes my computer crashes at even begining of the game or it let me to play 2 hours straight. I do not know what's wrong right now but at least sometimes I can play. But error still can appear so it is some kind of jumpscare for me, I am just waiting to see error message on my screen.

I'd say your GPU is failing.
