Can't Boot Vista Disc

I'm trying to install Windows on my new system and am having an odd problem. When starting the computer it says that it is booting from CD but then it just stays like that, at the bios, frozen. The harddrive that is in the computer was wiped clean with Acronis and the optical drive works. I know this because I can boot Acronis off its CD but I can't boot Vista. I've used the Vista DVD before too, so I know that works. Any insight on whats wrong here would be greatly appreciated.

did you set the bios to "boot from cd"
