I am trying to enter the bios to change fan speeds, but although I am spamming the delete key at boot I can't enter the bios. When I checked the system information for the bios version, it showed legacy. I went to look for a new version of the bios which I downloaded, but I can't install it because I have to go to the bios for that. Is there any other way to intall a new bios version other than opening up the bios?

I suggest you figure the motherboard model and look up in the user manual to see if you're hitting the correct key for entering bios.
Ok I have looked it up, it's the del key, but when booting it doesn't work. I just reset the cmos, and I had to press f1 to get into the bios, which didn't work with my keyboard (corsair k70 mk2).

Went to my neighbor and borrowed an old ps/2 keyboard. Hooked it up and it worked.

Weird thing is that this happened once before where I had to use an old dell keyboard with the same usb cable as this keyboard. Don't really know why that works and my own keyboard doesnt, maybe the lights?

Some older (ancient by today standards) motherboards have issues picking key clicks from usb keyboard, or you must enable usb keyboard in bios - thus need to have a PS keyboard available.
I have a relatively old motherboard, an asus p67 sabertooth, but when building my pc I remember having an usb keyboard working to get into bios first.
