guys

I have Socket 478 P4 (2.6 MHz processor) & I decided to OC it :sol: .

An ancient processor I know , but I need some extra core till I buy the new one .

I have GA-8I848P-G mobo

I set the FBS up to 160
& the Memory frequency auto set to 400

& raised the CPU Vcore to 0.5%

I actually have a 400 bus ram , but due to my CPU bus 533 , the ram runs at 333

so my goal was to get the Memory frequency to 400 :) .

that's my cpu before :

& that's after :

But when I used prime95 to test it , I shows error in the first 5 seconds :pfff: .
although the CPU temp was 40 .

how to make it stable ??

btw , I'm working on the OC without any CPU crashes

& I read that there is other better way to overclock by using the hidden GA bios features , how is that ?

other question : In the bios written that the SRC clock is very dangerous at Sata HDD , does it mean the OC process or something else ?

& if it's the OC , whould it be better if I canceled the OC to save the HDD from any damage ?

Can I go any farther than that OC ?
