Hey All,

I cant' get my cpu score on timespy over 7500. I have seen scores advertised over 9000 for this CPU. See HWINFO points (in onedrive link below) while running the benchmark:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArYX5lq-TL6bgagTCgNb4n2svbElpQ

PC:
Gigabyte 1070 TI GPU 8G
Ryzen 7 2700X CPU
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz (C16)
EVGA Supornova 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold
M.2 960 EVO Internal SSD 500GB
MSI X470 Gaming Pro Mobo

The Ram I have running at 3200 (X-AMP Profile 2 - 3200) in BIOS and precision boost overdrive is set to AUTO for CPU in BIOS as well.

Any help is appreciated!

Over 9,000?! 😏
The top score I'm looking at has their RAM running at ~DDR4-3466 and I'm curious what their timings are. They also have their CPU running at 4.37GHz. Increasing the RAM speed and tightening the timings effects the CPU score. Next user down had their CPU at 4.46GHz and DDR4-3752 Wow.

Can you link to your Timespy result? Try running userbenchmark to see where your system lands compared to others.

HA! I was hoping someone would comment on the over 9,000.. nice! lol.. See link : https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/34182243
I will check out userbenchmark!

I'm not sure what these users are doing to get their scores so high. Most of them appear to have very high speed RAM (>DDR4-3466) and it's probably very tight RAM timings. That gap between your system and theirs is curious though. I don't know a whole lot about the Ryzen platforms just yet (At least, not for overclocking) so I'm kind of limited on what input I can give you. I know that the RAM speed directly effects latency and performance of the Ryzen CPUs so perhaps you need to push for a higher speed on the RAM?

Thanks for the quick responses. I appreciate the help anyway! This is the link to my userbenchmark score: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/15189640

That test appears to show your CPU performing quite well compared to others. I'm at a loss as to how they're getting their CPU performance so significantly higher than yours. Hopefully someone else here might have better insight in this than me.

I'm curious what you think of the max 84C temp?
https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-7-2700x
"Max Temps 85°C"
I'd try to stay under 80°C, or more, if I were you. You can go higher (thermal throttle at 95°C) but if you're over the suggested limit for VCore then the max temp should be lower. Competition overclockers can run ridiculous voltages so long as they keep the temps very low (sub-zero usually -> LN2).

Thanks, A liquid cooler may be appropriate.
