can't get wireless internet on other wifi electronics in the house

I can get the internet on my home computer but my family cannot log onto the internet from other wireless electronics

Do you have a wireless router plugged into your modem?

The router will hopefully have some protection to stop unauthorised access and that means the devices will need to be told the security key. When you try to connect one of those devices, do you get to the stage where you have to enter that key or can the devices not even "see" the connection?

Sorry but mine was a sort of either/or question and "yes" doesn't tell me much. Can the computer see your network but fails to connect?
