I choose add/remove windows components, uncheck all currently checked options
and check the fax option only. When start the Setup process, I get the
following message:
"Setup was unable to build the list of files to copy for MSN Explorer. The
specific error code is 0xe0000102. Setup will continue but the component may
not function properly."
Well, I don't mind that, I already have Explorer installed. But now I want
fax. Why does the message refer to Explorer when I removed the check from
that box?
I decide to proceed anyway. The Setup deletes a bunch of files and then
tells me to insert the XP disk. I do this, but when I try to proceed I only
get a beep. Apparently Setup wants to copy files from D:\i386 and it mentions
fxscfgwz.dll. When I afterwards look on the disk, sure enough the file is
there. But the beep seems to mean that Setup is not finding it. Then the
procedure aborts.
Can someone please tell me what I have to do differently in order to install
the fax program?
