I tried to download and install the newest driver version for my graphic card, but nothing happened. The version is still old. I already used DDU but not worked

My specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-9100F CPU @ 3.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz
Memory: 16GB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Manufacturer: NVIDIA

Here's the video:

have you tried windows update as windows should have a driver that works with card. Sure, it isn't a new driver but it should work.

its not even running the wizard, AFAIK it should be asking for UAC access to install completely.

latest version of Win 10?

but i still prefer newer version, my version was from 3/2022

have you tried right clicking installer and running as admin? that should show UAC pop up and give the installer admin rights, it might keep going then.

do you mean the one you trying to install?
the windows version has been from 2020 for ages now.
i already run as admin.

i mean the nvidia driver version, not windows. my version was from 3/2022 and i can't install new version since that.

y
So the card still shows in device manager? I can see a stack of people where the GPU just disappeared.
you not even getting an error. it just stops.

I wonder if it shows anything in event viewer.
yeah, the card works normally, the only problem here is i can't update to the newer version, tried every method.

I noticed that the install path in video is C:\NVIDIA but my C drive doesn't have any NVIDIA folder.

windows redirects the drivers to the driverstore. Its where it saves all drivers. It also keeps copies of the installers so likely have a few in there. https://www.thewindowsclub.com/where-does-windows-save-or-store-device-drivers

have you tried geforce experience? just curious if it shows an error. Right now I can't see why it wouldn't at least tell us why its not working.
yeh, that's the point. geforce exp is the first method i tried, that's the most convenient tool i think, but this error appears when installing.

actually i used geforce exp since started using this pc, it works normally until this March, i couldn't update driver by this tool anymore bc of some error. I uninstalled it recently then reinstall but meet the error in the pic.

ok, so until March.. Geforce Experience still works properly. Did you install something or changed any program in the pc before the error started?
i think no. suddenly i couldn't install new version that time, i just ignored bc that was not a too big problem. Now i realized my driver version is too old (my version is 512, the newest is 516 now)

Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any Microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

it doesn't remove anything, it just stops non Microsoft programs running with startup. Easily reversed.

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of start-ups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

May be your user doesn't have permissions to create a folder on C:\
or may be C: doesn't have enough free space.

Change driver installation extract folder path to D:\Nvidia instead.

Oh yeah - NVidia control panel has to be closed during nvidia driver update (or files can't be updated properly).

thank u but the clean boot doesn't help instead
i noticed that when the installation running, the NVIDIA was created at C but it disappeared after seconds. maybe kinds of permission stopped it creating folders.

if possbile, i hope we can do some teamview to make it clear <3

try changing the install drive like Skynet suggested

how much free space on C?

if you run as admin it can't be permissions.

clean boot at least shows its not a conflict with a startup program

curious if anything shows in windows events when you run this. Something should know what is happening.

yeah, I'm currently using 516.94. Anyway, I think you don't really have much of a problem yet, the improvements added are only for three games.. Spiderman remastered, Madden NFL 23, and Super People. If you don't play these games, then it's fine not to have the newest driver.

many, 24gb free

sorry to hear that it did not work. For one thing.. there's no reason why your 1650 should not be able to use the latest drivers. Using my backup pc that has a 1050ti right now, it's a gpu older than your 1650. It updated to the latest drivers (the Spiderman) just fine. There's something in your pc which is causing drivers to not be installed properly.

is there something like resetting my pc can fix it ?

a reset can fix it, or it may not fix the problem. Because we currently don't really know what's preventing driver install into your pc. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with this latest nvidia driver, it installed into 3 different pc here in my house without any error.

backup important data first before doing a reset.
