Not sure if it is an issue or not, but when I finished the Win 10 tool creation process, there was no name on the drive, but besides that it all looks right -

I am lost at this point. Is it possible the SSD is done? It is fairly new and ran without issues for a year+. Didn't overclock anything either. Disconnected everything, only one screen + k/m connected. The self test option in the BIOS does freeze the PC. I waited 10 minutes for the short test and nothing was updated, and I THINK it should take less time than that for 2 TB.

I moved the SSD from one slot to the other, didn't help. I have another SSD coming tomorrow so I will check that, but I'd be really surprised if it was that. The reason why I am reformatting is because out of a sudden, the PC won't boot to Windows and would just go directly to BIOS. Haven't changed a thing, it just happened one evening when the PC was idle. Wasn't too bothered because it was time to do one anyway, but now with this issue I wonder if something serious happened.

Any suggestions?

So bios is set to uefi only?

Another pc that you can use? Maybe test the ssd in there. Even format it.

Can try this,

To manually wipe a drive and convert it to GPT:

1. Turn off the PC, and put in the Windows installation DVD or USB key.
2. Boot the PC to the DVD or USB key in UEFI mode. For more info, see Boot to UEFI Mode or Legacy BIOS mode .
3. From inside Windows Setup, press Shift+F10 to open a command prompt window.
4. Open the diskpart tool:
   diskpart
5. Identify the drive to reformat:
   list disk
6. Select the drive, and reformat it:
   select disk <disk number>
   clean
   convert gpt
   exit
7. Close the command prompt window.
8. Continue the Windows Setup installation.
   When choosing an installation type, select Custom. The drive will appear as a single area of unallocated space.
   Select the unallocated space and click Next. Windows begins the installation.

Since then I was able to go to Linux and "format" it so the data is not there anymore, but it still cannot be touched.
