i cant read 256 mb discs on my computer. It is WIn xp with sp2 and i couldn't
read them before i installed the sp. my drive is an HP cd-write cd 16
series. when i put the disk in a dialouge bax comes up but says that it is
empty and only gives me choices to write it. I also have a 98 computer with 2
disk drives and it wont read in either of them. My moms boyfriend has a
dell with xp and it reads the 256 mb discs fine.

the discs are the half size of a normal cd rw disc, they fit in the little
recessed space in the cd drive

These discs may not be readable by older CD Rom drives. Check for a
firmware update for your drive (provide model information if possible).
It may be that your drive will be incapable of reading these discs and
you will need to purchase a newer drive to read them. The good news is
that if you keep your eyes open at say Office Max, you can often find
52x burners for under $20.
