[SOLVED] Can't set CPU fan speed to 0 %?

Hey all,

just set up my new PC which works great all in all.

However, I noticed that in the BIOS there is no way to set the fan speed for the CPU to under 20 %.
This is something I've always done at low temps so the fan runs really quiet without any load / just browsing.

With the new motherboard ( Asus Maximus XI Hero ) and the corresponding fan ( Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black ) this doesn't seem possible.
Even on manual CPU fan curves, the lowest I can take the CPU fan is 20 %. Is there no way to adjust it or am I just missing an option here?

Solution
Asus has a hard stop on their curves to make sure the CPU is always being cooled. At 20% on that Noctua cooler, I doubt you will hear much. You could use Noctua's low-noise fan reduction cable too at the cost of some fan performance.
