Question cases that can fit a certain GPU, plus...

Well, I've been having a hard time finding a case that can fit a Zotac 4090 Trinity OC, mostly because most of these new cases have no more slots for Blu-Ray / DVD (5.25 bay) drives (that is the "plus" mentioned in the thread title)... Used that Corsair PC Builder section of their website, but it seems that all suggested cases have no bays for optical drives.

I also didn't wanna spend over 100 something dollars on a PC case, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You could look into Fractal's Pop series of cases;
if you're in need of a 5.25" drive bay.

yeah, it seems the POP XL Air can fit one 5.25" drive bay inside... But I don't have the slightest idea on how to work with a blu-ray drive inside a case... I mean, where will the tray slide to? It has to slide out, correct?

Also, don't seem to have fractal in my country of residence... It would have to be some other brand like maybe Corsair or Cooler Master.

Can someone please help me out? I mean, besides the 4090, it mostly needs to fit an ASrock B650M PG Riptide, a Ryzen 7700, and the Blu-Ray drive (wouldn't mind also a fit for an IDE backup drive, but then I guess I'm asking for too much?)

I was kinda eyeballing the Corsair 4000D Airflow, but then again, I've no idea if it has the space for the GPU, and also the fit for the drives I've been wanting to connect.

Would really appreciate some help with this one...

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M is what I have. A single removable optical bay. Also comes in a full tower with 4 optical bays.

Most MicroATX chassis and up have at least one mount for a 3.5" (inch) drive. Two is more typical. IDE is not the correct term, that is the old 40pin ribbon cable, aka PATA.

4000D doesn't have an optical bay.

Frankly I switched to external optical drives a long time ago. Data speed isn't that critical so plugging it in via USB is just fine. Has a power switch in the back and that lets me use it with my laptop when the need arises.

About the cheapest midtower that will fit the parts you listed is the Pop Air as recommended previously. Focus G is probably too small for the GPU in reality, though it would technically fit. (I have a Focus G that I built in for my Nephew)

You can look through the listings with the external 5.25" bay set to a minimum of 1 to find a case you like the look of. It is mainly older style chassis.

Part picker doesn't work. I mean, it just lists all available cases, it doesn't list the ones that will fit my GPU or the Blu-Ray drive. Besides, where I live Focus G or even Fractal are unavailable brands. I'd have to pick either Corsair or Cooler Master.

Edit: Also, the price of an external Blu-Ray recorder / drive is about the same price as the case itself (again, in the country I live in, so that would be around 125 dollars. So it has to be either the case, or the blu-ray external drive.)

Hi Guy's
Hope Everyone is Having A Great Weekend!!!

Most here won't suggest the
Thermaltake F31 Suppressor But
I had it for a long time and always had good temps, with 2x140 front fans 1x140 bottom fan and 1x140 rear exhaust and aio's up top from a 240 up to a 280 with the 2x 5.25 bays
(360mm without 5.25 bays)

Without the hard drive cage mounted it can handle a gpu up to 420mm.
You can use the hard drive sleds from the cage and mount 3 hard drives on the backside of the mobo tray.

The case shown is a little different then what I had bought years ago by the new version shows gpu vertical or horizontal mount.
Mine was horizontal mount only and had external water cooling passthroughs.

I would still be in that case if I hadn't went to a Full Custom Loop and needed more room.

Good Luck in your Case Hunt
Later Guy's!!!!!!!!!!!

In pcpartpicker.com, go to cases. On top is 'filters' button. In the filters, choose ATX midtower. Scroll down until you see 'external 5.25' . Move the slider to '1'. Then back arrow on the page and hit 'sort'. Choose price - lowest to highest.

That'll list all the ATX midtower with at least 1 optical drive, listed starting cheapest first. Find several, in the filters you can also specify a
minimum gpu length (one for the 4090) and it'll refine the list to include that requirement.

Should be able to find at least one or two that you can get.
