No they went stright to 3.0.

Anyone have tested CAT5.7 yet at high-res? Is the performance improvement really affecting the gameplay.

Because if you gain 100% more FPS when you got 5FPS before, games will still be unplayable at those resolution.

Did ATi even release Cat 5.6?

Yes, and low end POS cards like yours saw some nice improvements.

I saw a 2 fps hit in <A HREF="http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=830" target="_new">farcry benchmark utility</A> going from Cat 5.6 to cat 5.7 on a 9800 pro. SO I went back to 5.6. Tests were run at 1024 MAX no AA/AF.
